Warranty and Sales conditions

"House of the Friesians" is clear about what services are offered and what rates are charged. However, a Friesian studbook horse is a living animal and unexpected events can occur.

Owning a horse of your own can bring a lot of pleasure and enjoyment, but it can also bring a certain amount of risk. A horse can become ill and accumulate (high) medical bills, a horse can die suddenly, an accident can occur to rider or groom, etc, etc.

Even with an animal like the Friesian studbook horse the unexpected can not be ruled out. That is why "House of the Friesians" would like to draw your attention to the following warranties and sales conditions. We advise you to take a very close look at these conditions and to contact us if you should have any questions.

  1. Friesian Studbook Horses, are exclusively horses that are entered in one of the registers of the Royal Association "The Friesian Horses-Studbook" (FPS); visit http://www.fps-studbook.com/ and http://www.fhana.com/, and that are in the possession of a ( yellow, laminated) certificate that has been provided by the FPS and that at all times stays possession of the FPS.
  2. "House of the Friesians" will only sell, import and export Friesian studbook horses that are in the possession of valid registration papers that have been provided to them by the FPS and that are equipped with a personalized micro-chip in the neck from which the code matches the code on the registration papers.
  3. Mediation and services provided by "House of the Friesians" regarding horses will only be directed towards Friesian studbook horses.
  4. "House of the Friesians" guarantees that every horse sold, imported or exported by "House of the Friesians" or for which "House of the Friesians" is assisting in the mediation at the moment in which the appraisal report is being drawn up, indeed complies to all the details as they are being registered in the appraisal report; Customers need to realize that an appraisal report only reflects the horse's condition at that specific time and in no way offers a guaranty to the horse's situation or condition in the future.
  5. Contracts have to be submitted in writing.
  6. All prices, as they are being presented by "House of the Friesian", are in US$ taxes not included, but not limited to legal charges, GST, PST, BTW, import- and export duties and do not include expenses from import- and export permits and are, unless otherwise mentioned, not including possible medical charges.
  7. Membership fees to the FHANA or FPS are not included in prices as presented by "House of the Friesians" (new) owners or anyone interested in joining should apply directly to the FHANA or FPS for a membership: or visit http://www.fps-studbook.com/ and http://www.fhana.com/.
  8. Horses belonging to a third party that are being stabled at"House of the Friesians"must be healthy and free of decease; in the event that a horse that is being stabled at "House of the Friesians" is not free of decease or contamination and the owner of this horse could have known this, the owner will be held fully responsible for any damage resulting from this action.
  9. When horses belonging to a third party are stabled at "House of the Friesians", for any length of time, a feeding- and training-program will be put in place. In collaboration with the owner or owners "House of the Friesian" will help design an appropriate program for each horse. Included in the stabling-fee: maximum 3 kilogram of grain a day (oats and supplements) and 8 kilogram of grass or hay; additional feeding will be charged extra as will medical care, farrier services, de-worming or any needed equipment; also not included are transportation costs (whether by road or by air)
  10. During the stay of horses belonging to a third party at "House of the Friesians", for any length of time, the owner or owners are responsible for supplying a well fitted stable-halter with lead-rope, as well as a set of bandages for work on the longe-line, a well fitted stable-blanket and the necessary tack (bridle, saddle, saddle-pad, harness for driving, etc, etc.)
  11. People staying at "House of the Friesians", on our property or in our buildings, do so completely at their own risk.
  12. Horses staying at "House of the Friesians", on our property or in our buildings, do so completely at the risk of their owner or owners.
  13. "House of the Friesians" will not be held responsible for any damage done to property of a third party ( this includes trailers and cars) while on the property of, or in buildings belonging to "House of the Friesians".
  14. Stabling and transportation of horses will always be at the risk of the owner or owners. "House of the Friesians" can in no way be held responsible for any damage whatsoever.
  15. Any disputes between "House of the Friesians" and customers that can not be resolved by mutual agreement, will be brought to the county-court in The Hague (The Netherlands) where the verdict made by the court, will be irrevocable and conclusive for both parties and to which no appeal will be possible and no objection can be made.
